There's More To Me Than Meets The Eye

Vulnerability. Scrolling through the hundreds of pictures on my old iPhone, meant for what was supposed to eventually be the transformation picture. Crying over the blurred line of what was “before” and what was “after.” Crying over the self loathing thoughts that crossed my mind in each one of these pictures. How much different would I have to look to “complete” the transformation?

The transformation is the investment in knowing ourselves in a deeper way, every day. It’s the lifelong process of learning to trust our bodies regardless of how much she weighs and believing that she is safe and that she is loved. That she is beautiful because of what she embodies.
•
I am safe. I am the before and the after. And yet somehow neither of them all at the same time as I evolve day by day. A paradox I am becoming increasingly comfortable with. I am all of the beautiful transformative parts. I am the gentle, compassionate, sacred mother to my own being.

I am the excitement in jumping out of the pool to race my kids to the ice cream truck.
I am the joy in home cooked meals, gathered at our table with the people I love.
I am the grounding in my favorite cup of coffee on the back porch for sunrise.
I am the strength in my body when it makes its way into a new shape.

So are you.

Forever in the process of transformation. Forever the before and the after~
